Bakmi Abun

Bakmi Abun, Kelapa GadingBakmi means noodles, whereas Abun is a person’s name (Chinese nick name). So this restaurant offers Abun’s noodles. This is my mom’s favourite noodles when she was young (around 30 years ago). She really loves their wonton / dumpling (suikiaw) (see the pictures underneath). Their first branch is at Gang Kelinci, Pasar Baru street market, Jakarta Pusat. Every time I go with my mom to Pasar Baru, we always eat chicken noodles either here, bakmi Gang Kelinci, or Bakmi Sui Sen (https://goodmorningjakarta.wordpress.com/2012/08/29/bakmi-sui-sen-sui-sen-noodles/).

The tastes of all their food are great and I love the texture of their noodles. Don’t forget also to order their nasi goreng (fried rice). Bakmi and nasi goreng are the must ordered food in this restaurant and when you come to Jakarta 😉

Sam Won House

This is the best Korean Restaurant in Jakarta that I’ve ever tried. Their food taste are superb and the price is reasonable. The place is cozy, not really crowded, you can relax here and forget for a while about the traffic jam in South Jakarta. Wolter Monginsidi Street is the heaven for a Korean restaurant lover, all along the street you can find many of them, may be there is 8-10 Korean restaurants and many great International or Indonesian restaurant there.

I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for Korean foods. It is simply the best 😉

Bubur Ayam Mangga Besar I

Jakartans like to have a very late dinner or snack, usually at 10-12 pm. Not many restaurants that open ’till late nite. This is one of the best restaurant to have a meal after 11 because it is not a heavy meal. The main dish is just a chicken rice porridge. Actually, their rice porridge is just an ordinary porridge; but the ones that make it special are the side dishes that you eat together with the porridge, such as boiled chicken, chicken liver, chicken intestines, roast ducks, black egg ( I don’t know the name in English), etc.

I highly recommend you to come to this restaurant for a late dinner 🙂
